"I researched dobsonians for nearly 18 months - looking at Starmasters, Obsessions, and others. Luckily, I found Nightsky Scopes during my research. Jim Nadeau was extremely patient and helpful as I asked countless questions. Finally, I placed my order for a 14.5" f/4.3 scope with Pegasus optics. I requested that he make spoke-style altitude bearings for me, and Jim came through with results that far exceded my expectations. This scope is beautiful, and Jim's website does not do justice to his craftmanship. The woodwork is amazing and the movement of the scope is smooth. There's zero backlash, and it sticks solid. Thanks to the near perfect geometry of this scope, the Sky Commander Jim installed for me is spot on.

I picked up my scope, drove to the Central Texas Star Party, and first light proved that not only was Jim's design flawless, but so was John Hall's mirror making ability! WOW! Saturn at 650x - huge and razor sharp. Deep sky objects resolved as I've never seen them before. My scope attracted a crowd, as well it should have. After seeing it, one of the star party participants placed an order with Jim a few days later... I know he's going to be as happy with his new Nightsky scope as I am".
