Pegasus Optics

John Hall (owner/operator) has earned the reputation of making the best Newtonian mirrors available. John has had several decades of optical experience fabricating telescope mirrors and custom optics. Under the name Pegasus Optics, John has been making premium optics for the discriminating Amateur Astronomer for more than 10 years. He personally figures each Pegasus mirror to exacting tolerances.

Pegasus optics are guaranteed have no more than 1/8 wave indicated error at the wavefront peak-to-valley and 1/25 wave RMS (Strehl Ratio = .94). Guaranteed for 100% of the mirrors surface.

Objective test certifications confirming achievement of target values with a detailed explanation are included with each mirror.

The target values of 1/8 wave Peak to Valley and 1/25 wave RMS (Strehl Ratio = .94) are the minimums allowable and in most cases these numbers are significantly higher.

All Pegasus mirrors come standard with standard (90%) coatings from Spectrum (IAD + quartz overcoat). See Spectrum's website for more details.
