ELECTRICAL PACKAGES

Electrical package Includes battery charger, Astrosystems secondary "Dew Guard", two (2) cooling fans on the mirror cell, Four (4) RCA 12-volt power plugs for DSC's, fans and secondary dew heater, 7 Ah sealed lead acid battery and cigarette lighter plug for powering ServoCat GOTO system or Kendrick System Controller. (Kendrick controller and heaters not included.)

Upgrade to 14Ah - Two (2) 7Ah sealed lead acid batteries wired to double the capacity. (Suggested if you plan to use a Kendrick Dew Removal System or just want extended battery life for multiple night, star party use.)

Add Telrad dew control system Includes Astosystems Telrad Dew shield and Moonlight Telrad heater. With these two devices in operation your telrad will not dew up, even under extreme conditions. Add to either the 7Ah or 14Ah electrical package.

All of these components are installed and and wiring is provided to power them. The wires to power the secondary dew heater and Telrad dew heater are run through one of the truss poles to feed to the upper cage. All connections are with RCA type connectors.

The cigarette lighter plug can be used to power a Kendrick Dew Remover controller. There is a heavy gauge wire run inside the truss pole with RCA connectors to power Kendrick eyepiece, Telrad or finder scope dew heaters on the upper cage if so desired. Use of an RCA "Y" adapter is needed for more than one Kendrick heater.

AstroSystems amazing "Dew Guard" secondary mirror heating system automatically senses the air temperature and the mirror temperature, then maintains the secondary at a preset (adjustable) temperature above the ambient air temperature. Gently warms the secondary at 2-4 watts when on full. The DG-1 has 4, The DG-2 has 6 and the DG-3 has 8 evenly spaced contact points for optimal thermal distribution. Uses any external 9-15 volt dc supply or you can run on a 9v battery in a pinch. No more heat ropes!
